Adere safari lodge

The lodge contains amenities and facilities such as a bathroom with a big-sized tap, flushing toilets, a swimming pool, a sizable football pitch, and many others.

Mid-range accommodation

Mid-range accommodations provide a balance between cost and comfort. These options may not offer the high-end luxury of the lodges, but they still ensure a pleasant stay, often with the added benefit of providing more intimate and personalised experiences. These include

Nga Moru Wilderness camp

The name of the park was derived from the locals, and it means a place of rocks. This lodge also faces the Narus Valley, which gives guests a chance to see animals grazing in the park, like antelopes, buffalo and others. In the evening, guests are able to enjoy a campfire as they tell stories. The lodge has 5 self-contained rooms with en suite bathrooms.

Zebra Safari Lodge

Zebra Safari Lodge-Kidepo is located on Plot 104, Kalukudo Village. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the famous Kalukudo Gate in Opot Pot Parish. It lies in the newly carved-out Karenga District, within the Karamojong Sub-region, located in the northeastern part of Uganda.

The camp does not have provisions for meals and drinks; guests are advised to come with their own food and drinks for the time they will be staying. The camp staff arranges the cooking.

Kidepo Valley National Park Campsites

For those who love camping and prefer to be closer to nature, the park has designated campsites where visitors can set up their tents. The campsites are basic, offering the essentials like pit latrines and water sources. They are ideal for adventurous travellers who are self-sufficient and don’t mind roughing it in the wild. Camping allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the park’s surroundings, often waking up to the sounds of animals and witnessing the beauty of the park at dawn and dusk.

Kidepo guest house

A simple, budget-friendly guesthouse located near the park’s entrance, Kidepo Guest House provides basic rooms with shared amenities. While it may not offer the luxury of more expensive lodges, it’s an affordable option for budget-conscious travellers who are primarily focused on exploring the park. The guesthouse offers essential services like meals, laundry, and simple accommodation for those passing through or staying for a few nights.

Nga’Moru Apoka Rest Camp

This is a budget accommodation facility located just four kilometres from the Katarum Park gate. It is relatively cheaper to stay here because the lodge is owned by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. The camp has 14 bandas and 16 self-contained chalets.  The Bandas have limited facilities and are designed for low-budget travellers or backpackers.  There are also three safari tents with at least three beds with en-suite bathrooms and other amenities. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a nice-looking bar with all the beautiful drinks. You can come with your tent or hire one from the headquarters.

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking for luxury, mid-range, or budget accommodation, there are several options available, each providing a different experience of the park’s charm. Whether you’re staying in a high-end lodge overlooking the savannah or camping under the stars, Kidepo offers an incredible opportunity to explore one of Uganda’s most remote and beautiful regions.
