This is a 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda for gorilla trekking and a Batwa cultural experience, and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda for gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, hike to Dian Fossey Tomb, visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village and Kimironko market in Kigali.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the 1st day of the 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will arrive at Entebbe Airport and meet with a representative guide from Chopper Tour and Travel who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after going through the itinerary.
You will have a stopover at the equator monument for a picture as you start your Uganda safari tour experience, and then you will proceed. You will have a stopover at Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre for lunch. After lunch, you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. You will check into a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience
On the 2nd day of the 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, and then the guide will take you for a briefing at the park headquarters. You will be briefed about gorilla trekking, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and then be given an armed ranger guide to accompany you. You will then trek for about 30 minutes to 7 hours searching for the gorillas. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas after spotting them. You will observe the way of life of these primates, and then you will take pictures. You will then go back to the lodge and have lunch.
You will then have a visit to the Batwa for a Batwa cultural experience. These Batwa locals will teach you their culture and traditions. You will be taught how they prepare their local dishes, plus their ancient hunting and food-gathering skills. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 3:Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the 3rd day of 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and then you will check out of the lodge. The guide will then transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. You will cross the Cyanika border. You will arrive in the afternoon you check into a lodge, and have lunch. You will then relax at the lodge, have dinner, and then retire to bed.

Day 4:Gorilla trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
On the 4th day of the 6 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will be served an early morning breakfast, and then you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. The guide will then take you for gorilla trekking after the briefing. The gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park involves allocating you a gorilla family to meet, and it will take you about 30 minutes to 7 hours to find them, depending on their location. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas after spotting them. After taking videos and pictures of the gorillas, you will be returned to the lodge and you will have lunch.
You will relax at the lodge after lunch, and then you will go for a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village while on your Rwanda safaris. At Iby’iwacu cultural village, you will have a cultural experience with the locals that you will meet there. They will teach you about the Rwandese culture and traditions. You will learn how they prepare their local dishes and many more. The guide will then transfer you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
On the 5th day of the 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will be served an early morning breakfast, and then you will get a transfer from the lodge to the park headquarters with a guide. You will be briefed about golden monkey trekking at the park headquarters, and then you will begin the trek. The trek will take approximately 30 minutes to 4 hours to spot the golden monkeys, and after spotting them, you will have one hour with the golden monkeys. After spending an hour with the golden monkeys, you will be returned to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, you will be briefed at the park headquarters and then go for a hike to Dian Fossey’s Tomb. The hike will include various sights of birds and animal species. When you get there, you will be able to see the tomb of Dian Fossey and also get a lot of information from the researchers about the gorillas. You will then be returned to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali Airport
On the 6th day of the 6 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will be served an early morning breakfast at the lodge in Volcanoes National Park. After the morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. The guide will then transfer you to Kigali, which will take approximately 2 hours.
You will go to Kimironko market and get to interact with the locals there. You will buy souvenirs from there, and then the guide will transfer you to a hotel, and you will have lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to Kigali Airport for your flight.
