Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Your adventure begins early in the morning with departure from Kampala. The journey to Kidepo is approximately 10 hours by road. Driving through northern Uganda gives you a deeper appreciation of the country’s diversity. You will pass small trading centres, grazing cattle and dramatic rocky outcrops unique to the Karamoja region.
You will have a stopover at a hotel for lunch and afterwards proceed with the journey, arriving at Kidepo in the late afternoon. After checking into your lodge, you will settle in and relax. If time allows, you may enjoy a short evening game drive in the Narus Valley, the park’s wildlife heartland. You may come across herds of buffalo, elephants or giraffes and many more. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Narus Valley and Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive in the Narus Valley. This valley holds permanent water sources, making it the prime wildlife viewing area. The early morning hours are particularly active, and predators may still be on the move, and herbivores gather to drink. While on the morning game drive, you may spot cheetahs, ostriches, lions, large herds of buffalo, zebras, elands, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests and many more. After several hours of exploration, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation.
In the afternoon, you will visit a local Karamojong traditional homestead. The Karamojong are pastoralists with a rich cultural heritage deeply connected to cattle and community life. You will learn about their traditions, dances and way of life. In the evening, you will be taken back to the lodge to have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Nature walk and return to Kampala
Your final morning in Kidepo begins with a relaxed breakfast, and afterwards, you head out for an early guided nature walk. Kidepo is also a paradise for bird lovers, with over 470 species recorded. From vultures soaring above to colourful bee-eaters and hornbills, the park’s birdlife adds vibrant energy to the scenery. This nature walk will expose you to views of wildlife at close range. After the nature walk, you will head back to the lodge and check out.
After checking out, you will begin your return journey to Kampala. Along the way, you will have a stopover for lunch at a hotel. You will then continue with the journey. You will arrive back in Kampala in the evening, bringing the 3 days Kidepo Valley Park Adventure to an end.
