Day 1: Pick up from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park
Your journey begins very early in the morning from Kampala with a link-up with a professional driver guide who will drive you to Kidepo Valley National Park. The drive to Kidepo takes approximately 10 to 12 hours. As you head north through Gulu and Kitgum, you will notice the landscape gradually changing. With strategic stops for refreshments and lunch, the drive becomes part of the adventure rather than just a transfer. By early evening, you arrive at Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Africa’s most remote and spectacular parks.
After checking into your lodge, you will go for an evening game drive where you are most likely to spot buffalo herds, elephants, zebras, Jackson’s hartebeest, ostriches and many more. Afterwards, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Transfer to Murchison Falls
You will wake up before sunrise for an early morning game drive. After a short briefing, you will set off for the morning game drive of about 3 to 4 hours. You will have the opportunity to spot several wildlife species, such as lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elands, kudu and many more. The openness of Kidepo makes wildlife viewing particularly rewarding. You will, after the game drive, return to the lodge.
After breakfast at the lodge, you begin your road journey southward toward Murchison Falls National Park of approximately 7 to 8 hours. You will arrive in Murchison in the evening, and when you arrive, you will proceed to a lodge and check in. After checking in, you will freshen up, have dinner and retire to bed.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive, Nile Boat Cruise and depart to Kampala
Your final day will begin early with a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, the prime wildlife region of Murchison Falls. While on the morning game drive, you may encounter Rothschild’s giraffes, elephants, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, lions, oribi and bushbucks. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast and some rest at the lodge, you head for the Nile boat cruise.
While cruising, you will see large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants drinking at the river’s edge and many more. After the boat cruise, you will go back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will check out. After checking out, you begin your road journey back to Kampala, approximately 5 to 6 hours, arriving in the evening.
